A top of the range numbing cream is used prior to your treatment and a further numbing gel is used throughout. Clients are extremely comfortable and sometimes fall asleep depending on your treatment. You will usually be more sensitive during/ just before your menstrual cycle, also if you are dehydrated, hungry, sleep deprived etc you can be more restless, so it can be advised to factor these things into your appointment date. Most clients describe pain as a 0-3 out of 10.

You should not consume any caffeine, alcohol, ibuprofen or aspirin 24hrs before your appointment. These are all blood thinners which results in excess bleeding during treatment – this means it’s harder to implant and retain pigment. Please also ensure there is no tint present on the brows. For lips if you have ever had a coldsore it is highly recommended to take antiviral medication to minimise the risk of an outbreak after the lip blush treatment. Further consultation on pre after care will be provided at your consultation or upon booking.

In summary, your brows must not get wet, sweaty or be in the sun for 2 weeks, you must wipe your brows with the PhiBrows Aftercare wipe provided, and apply the PhiBrows cream provided for 7 days. There is also a patch to wear on the first night to cover the brows. A further PhiBrows cream will be provided to be used for 3 weeks after treatment to further enhance skin healing. Aftercare will be fully explained during your consultation or at the time of booking and on the day of treatment.

Brow pigment slowly fades over time, the rate at which depends on numerous factors including: oiliness of the skin, sun exposure, smoking, drinking, skin care, and quality of the skin tissues. Some people require a top up treatment after 12 months, others a few years. The idea is that brows are faded enough for there to be enough room to add further pigment at your future top ups which is unique to the individual.

  • During the healing process pigment fades in some places more than others, the touch up appointment allows for this pigment to be added back and for the colour to be refreshed. Each individual retains different levels of pigment – it’s best to add more at the 2nd session than be too saturated during the first. These appointments take less time than your initial appointment as they are a refresh.
